TRANSMEDIA STORYTELLING

I'm the author of Fantastic Transmedia: Narrative, Play and Memory Across Science Fiction and Fantasy Storyworlds, published by Palgrave-Macmillan in 2015.

The book builds on my practical experience working on a range of licensed properties - including Doctor Who, Highlander and Judge Dredd - to advance a comprehensive understanding of transmedia storytelling that can incorporate licensed tie-in work and more loosely connected crossmedia storyworlds alongside more formally integrated transmedia projects.

In the course of the book I analyse in-depth the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Halo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Lord of the Rings. However, I also look at smaller-scale crossmedia projects, such as the work of Urban Angel and Andrea Phillips' America 2049.

As well as my own experience working on transmedia properties, Fantastic Transmedia draws extensively on my previous publications and presentations on the subject.
